BIKING FOR A GOOD CAUSE!
KUCHING ECO CYCLING ADVENTURE FLAG OFF

BorneoTalk had the privilege of witnessing the flagging off the start of the Sports for Good Cause Tour, organised by Singapore’s Ageless Bicyclists, a non-profit social enterprise which prides itself on integrity, honesty and openness, all while embracing a healthy lifestyle through recreational, experiential and inclusive cycling and arts. The flag off took place in front of the Riverside Majestic Hotel Astana Wing Kuching at 8.30am on November 25, 2022.

Founder of Ageless Bicyclists, Malcolm Chen, is no stranger to the streets of Kuching, having organised multiple tours across Malaysia from Singapore, including Johor Bahru and Langkawi this year alone. With each tour, contributions were made towards a charity organisation, to go towards enhancing a healthy lifestyle for individuals with different abilities!

As part of their Eco Cycling Adventure, the 20-strong tour will be making contributions to the Kuching Autistic Association Resource and Education Centre (KAA), so that KAA could further provide education & training opportunities to children and young persons with autism through appropriate intervention programmes, equip parents and caregivers of autistic individuals with coping and training skills as well as further develop public awareness and promote community involvement.

The tour was joined by people of all walks of life, comprising four deaf cyclists, several parents of autistic children and enthusiastic cyclists from Singapore, including an 85-year-old! As part of their 4D3N tour across Kuching from November 24 to 27, 2022, the team will be visiting the KAA headquarters before making their way to Bau’s Wind Cave and Mount Singgai!
We wish them all the best on their tour, and if you see them on the road, make sure to give them a wave!
